Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase got heated Sunday during the Chiefs’ 25-17 win at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
Sneed and Chase got into a shoving match during the second quarter of the contest (video here). Other Chiefs defenders got entangled with Chase as well.
Sneed was asked about his altercation with Chase after the game. The Chiefs cornerback appeared to hint that they kept things civil following the final whistle. But Sneed also gave a rather spicy 3-word quote.
“Check the stats,” said Sneed.

The stats did play in the Chiefs defense’s favor. Chase finished with just 3 catches on 7 targets for 41 yards and no touchdowns. So did the 25-17 final score.
The Chiefs defense may have already been on edge toward Chase after the Bengals star made some rather disrespectful comments heading into their matchup.
Chase appeared to still be heated about the incident when asked about Sneed in the locker room. But the 23-year-old wideout broke from his bravado for a second and chuckled with teammate Tee Higgins as he spoke to reporters.

"M'fer won't fight me….Just trash talking. Can't handle it."

“I don’t know what [Sneed] was doing. I just be under people’s skin sometimes … MF-er won’t fight me. … We were just trash talking. He can’t handle it,” Chase said, before laughing.
The Bengals were eliminated from postseason contention after falling to 8-8 following Sunday’s loss.
