The Browns are reportedly kicking the tires on another low-risk, potential high-reward addition on the defensive line.

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Browns had veteran defensive end/outside linebacker Aaron Lynch in for a workout on Monday. Rapoport reported the workout was “positive.”

There’s been no word yet of the team nearing a deal with Lynch. The lone defensive end the Browns signed during free agency was Za’Darius Smith, who they brought back on a two-year deal.

Lynch, 31, last played eight games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020 before stepping away from the game for “personal reasons.” He had one sack that season, of Baker Mayfield in a 27-25 Browns win.

Over a seven-year pro career that included stops with the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears and Jacksonville, Lynch played 81 games with 22 starts. He only played double-digit games in a season four times and only played the full 16 games twice: as a rookie in 2014 with the 49ers and 2019 with the Bears.
