During this process, ASU long snapper Slater Zellers has visited with the hometown Cardinals according to The Draft Network‘s Justin Melo.

The Scottsdale native played 41 games in four seasons (2019-2022) with UC Berkeley.
But with a fifth year of college eligibility available, Zellers transferred from the Golden Bears to former PAC-12 Conference rival and his local university, ASU.
Melo claimed that Zellers had a strong season as a Sun Devil and is projected to be NFL-ready even before the draft.
“Arizona State’s Slater Zellers is the best long-snapper in the 2024 NFL Draft,” Melo said. “Zellers has been on the NFL’s radar since his playing days at California before he transferred to Arizona State and strung together another efficient campaign. Zellers will be a starting long-snapper in the league next season.”
It will be interesting to see if a team will end up drafting Zellers or if he’ll sign as an undrafted free agent. At the time of reporting, there are no mock drafts from other outlets that have his name on their boards.
In the long-snapper position, the Cardinals have Aaron Brewer and Matt Hembrough currently. During the early stages of free agency, Brewer re-signed with the Cardinals after agreeing to a one-year contract.
From this Thursday to Saturday, the Cardinals have 11 picks during the 2024 NFL Draft and six in the first three rounds. The draft officially begins on Thursday at 5 p.m. PT.
