The Chicago Cubs are continuing to make changes to their front office staff as the 2024 MLB season approaches.
Now, they have hired a new director of player development in Jason Kanzler according to The Athletic. Kanzler served as an assistant hitting coach for the Houston Astros over the course of the last three seasons.
Kanzler is essentially replacing Jared Banner who was the Vice President of player development before being promoted to an assistant general manager this offseason.
Kanzler made his mark on the Astros after helping create one of the most potent offenses in MLB and propelling Houston to their second franchise World Series championship in 2022.
