Following the loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, the NY Giants are now projected to have the No. 5 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Which position will general manager Joe Schoen focus on? That’s something we can’t wait to find out.
While this team is obviously in need of offensive line help – the group gave up seven sacks in New Orleans – people continue to dream about a new franchise signal-caller being selected. Tommy DeVito isn’t the answer long term, but could Jayden Daniels be? On Monday, the Heisman Trophy winner announced he’s skipping LSU’s bowl game and he’s officially entering the NFL Draft:

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels officially announces he’s entering the 2024 NFL Draft
This move was expected from Daniels, as he has nothing to play for in the bowl game and he’s now going to shift his full focus to getting himself ready for the NFL Combine. Daniels is coming off an electric season for the Tigers, leading to him taking home the Heisman honor earlier this month.
This campaign, the star quarterback tossed for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and only four interceptions. Those are the kinds of numbers that have Giants fans drooling at the thought of him running the offense moving forward.
While Schoen said he’s ready to stick by Daniel Jones, he also made it clear that the Giants will select the best player available regardless of position when they’re on the clock in the first round. If Daniels is still on the board when it’s Schoen’s turn to send a pick in, how in the world could he pass on him?
Now that the Giants have nine losses on the season, they’re guaranteed their ninth losing season in the last 11 years. The organization has gone through some lean years and 2023 has been a total disappointment. The fanbase is looking for a savior on offense. Daniel very well could turn out to be the guy.
