The Carolina Panthers
Legend Luke Keuchly, like many, has a rather simple view of the Carolina Panthers‘ selection of South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette.
On a special edition episode of The Panthers Huddle, Keuchly had nothing but great things to say about the Mullins, South Carolina, native as the franchise prepares to usher in its Bryce Young and Legette era.
“He’s just fun,” Keuchly said. “The on-field stuff speaks for itself. He’s big. He’s long. He can run. But he plays big. … He does a great job creating layers in the defense. He can stretch the field. He opens up windows for Adam Thielen, Diontae Johnson, hopefully, it will give a little creativity in the offense. He’s a difficult guy to get on the ground once he gets the ball in his hands.”
Though Kuechly will have some bias because he works in the organization, if anyone knows what talent is needed to be elite at the NFL level, it is him.
Legette took a while to burst onto the scene in college. But once he came alive, he never looked back.
Carolina aims to create a similar connection with Young and the first-round wide receiver selection during the 2024 season. We will see if he lives up to the hype.
