Raiders Forced To Delete Sketchy Draft Post Due To Unintentional Henry Ruggs Reference

The 2024 NFL Draft was full of ups and downs for every team, and that includes the Las Vegas Raiders, who made a poorly timed post on day three of the draft after making their 112th overall selection.

Ruggs was drafted with the Raiders’ number 12 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was slated to be one of the best receivers in the league after putting up monstrous numbers in his first season, but his career was cut short due to some horrible decision-making.

The Raiders posted to X with a caption stating “speed kills,” but it was quickly deleted after an admin most likely noticed the post may be viewed in poor taste after the Ruggs incident, which happened in 2021 and took the life of 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog.

Henry Ruggs Tragedy Still Haunts Las Vegas Raiders Today

With the draft pick, the Raiders selected former Missippi State and Ole Miss cornerback Decameron Richardson. He ran a 4.34-second 40-yard dash, which was where the team may have gotten the poor taste message that was quickly deleted.

After the incident in 2021, the Raiders quickly cut Henry Ruggs, who, shortly after, went on trial. The evidence was completely foolproof after Ruggs’ blood alcohol was more than twice the legal limit, and he was driving an unbelievably reckless 156 miles per hour.

While Ruggs is currently serving his 3 to 10-year sentence in a Nevada prison camp, he will, unfortunately, have to live with the fact that he took the life of a young, innocent woman and her dog for the rest of his life.

We can only hope that Henry Ruggs and the Raiders have learned their lessons after this extremely horrible tragedy, and horribly timed post.
