Quarterback Sam Hartman wasn\u2019t picked in the\u00a0NFL\u00a0Draft but has landed a major deal with a team all the same.<\/p>\n

The former Wake Forest and Notre Dame QB was signed by the\u00a0Washington Commanders\u00a0following the draft on Saturday and is set to make more money than the typical undrafted free agent.<\/p>\n

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the signal-caller has been signed to a contract that will pay him a base salary of $225,000 plus a signing bonus of $20,000.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s still far from the $1.025 million and $80,732 signing bonus a seventh-round pick would receive, it\u2019s still a whole lot for an undrafted free agent.<\/p>\n

Sam Hartman Won\u2019t Get Much Playing Time With The Washington Commanders In 2024<\/h2>\n

Sam Hartman should be pleased with himself, as the numbers indicate the Commanders aren\u2019t simply signing him as a summer placeholder. However, the team drafted Jayden Daniels as the No. 2 overall pick, so he shouldn\u2019t expect much action in 2024.<\/p>\n

Daniels could take the starting job from\u00a0Marcus Mariota; that\u2019s left to time to tell. In any case, Hartman is unlikely to see the field in any significant capacity, barring injuries.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also worth noting that the NFC outfit added veterans Jeff Driskel and\u00a0Jake Fromm\u00a0this offseason.<\/p>\n

Hartman threw for 2,689 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions for Notre Dame, having passed for 77 scores in his final two seasons at Wake Forest before his transfer to the Fighting Irish.<\/p>\n
