And in the moments they got to be on opposite sides of the practice field, neither could really unleash their true ability to test the other.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Trey Benson and Jared Verse former teammates turned division rivals talk trash on Burns &amp; Gambo\" width=\"790\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rm74oAOqDO8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>They will now get a chance to do that in the NFL, and in the same division no less, after Verse was selected 19th overall by the Los Angeles Rams while Benson was selected in the third round by Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>When Benson was joining\u00a0<em>Arizona Sports\u2019 Burns &amp; Gambo<\/em>, he was asked about\u00a0his social media post\u00a0about having to face the pass rusher Verse and former Seminoles defensive tackle Braden Fiske, who was also drafted by the Rams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe actually right here, we together right now,\u201d Benson said, surprising everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Verse was put on the phone and asked about\u00a0his response to the post, which was that he wasn\u2019t going to be holding back.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;I&#39;m taking the paint off his helmet!&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;He ain&#39;t gonna hit me.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>New Cardinals RB Trey Benson was asked about having to face his former Florida State teammate and new Rams pass rusher Jared Verse by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BurnsAndGambo?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@BurnsAndGambo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So he handed the phone to Verse. I couldn\u2019t hit him in practice! He gonna get this in game!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Benson immediately quipped back, \u201cHe ain\u2019t gonna hit me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both were enjoying the banter while Benson clarified Verse has to catch him first before hitting him, citing the difference in 40-yard dash times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the pads on we all move different!\u201d Verse shouted in the background.<\/p>\n<p>Verse wanted to make sure Benson\u2019s case for how he could either outrun Verse or put a move on him was not going to be taken seriously before Benson said he\u2019s taking Verse \u201cstraight on\u201d in the open field.
